It has had great reviews and it is naturally one of the sweetest cacao beans you can find. It can be healthier if you have a sweet tooth as you may feel you do not need to add sweetening ingredients to it. It is so delicious it is very nibble-able in its raw state to give you a nutritional boost, healthy chocolate here we come!

Why give this cacao a home?

The Cacao is sourced from a Peruvian co-operative, founded in 1998 to preserve traditional methods of harvesting, working with small farmers to cultivate, process and market their products in accordance with the Soil Association’s organic standard. Their founding principles are:

1) Quality over quantity
2) Supporting Andean mega-biodiversity, not homogenisation
3) Promoting organic methods of production
4) Fair income distribution among the people participating as suppliers, transformers and traders
5) Social responsibility, following the principles of Fair Trade

Ethically produced and sustainably sourced from a small farming co-operative in the Peruvian Andes who cultivate an ancient strain of the tree using permaculture principles. This cacao is one of the naturally sweetest ones I have tasted, making it so delicious to nibble raw and unnecessary for any sweetener to be added, except maybe a date or two for those who wanted added thickness, or have a sweet tooth. I have been importing this delicious, heart-opening medicine for years. It is the same one you will have tried for those who have been to my ceremonies, and it is my personal go-to.
